Oriental Medical Shiatsu Massage:

105 Clock Hours

This program is designed for continual education for LMT‘s and additionally certifies for transfer of credit to other licensed states that require additional Shiatsu hours such as New York State Licensure.

Learn how Oriental ―finger pressure‖ (acupressure) called Shiatsu helps to assist the body in regaining energy and reducing stress. Shiatsu involves stretching, holding, compressing, kneading and leaning into the body to improve circulation, flexibility and posture. Pressure is applied with the hands, thumbs, fingers, forearm, knees and feet as the recipient is sitting or lying in various positions. Shiatsu, a traditional form of Oriental medicine, can easily be integrated into Swedish Massage, neuromuscular, and trigger point therapy. This form of massage is a favorite among those who like to experience deep relaxation. Massage or skin care therapists working in any field and the lay public, should find these treatments will improve their work and health of their clients.
