The objective of this program is to train students to master the art of permanent cosmetic procedures for beautification and or correction for camouflage of skin imperfections. This procedure does not include advanced medical procedures like areoli, eye shadowing, body tattooing, etc.

Permanent Cosmetics (Micro-Pigmentation) is a relatively new trend in the United States but rapidly growing in popularity. Women everywhere are discovering they have more time and less stress when they do not have to worry about applying make up daily. Techniques for application of this semi-permanent technique is similar to tattooing and requires special training beyond any previous training or licensure. Prior licensure in esthetics, massage, nail tech specialty or a medical licensure is suggested but not necessarily required by the state at this time. This course will give you the information required to start your own permanent makeup business upon completion for certification.

At this time there is no state exam or license for Micro-pigmentation. Students will be taught three main procedures that are popularly requested (eyes, lips, and brows). The instructor will be following theory in physiology and histology of the skin, color wheel, consultation, laws and rules governing Micro-pigmentation, sanitation etc. will be described within this program.

 

Program Outline:
1. Theory and History of Permanent Cosmetics: Learn how old this method of cosmetic application is and the theory behind proper application.
2. Safety, Sanitation and Sterilization: Demonstration and proper application of disinfectants and autoclave equipment. Keeping you and your client safe during implanting of pigment.
3. Disorders of the Skin: Contraindications for refusing to apply permanent makeup on specific conditions and disorders.
4. Anatomy and Physiology: Explanation of the body and where, how deep, and method of application of pigment on the skin.
5. State Laws and Insurance: Learning what you need to do to be legal and insurable. Learning where to get insurance for your practice.
6. Treatment Set-up and Layout: Save time and be prepared. Safety and sanitation for set up of equipment, pigments, numbing ingredients, etc.
7. Pigment and Color Theory: Learn how to make your application look natural. Being informed as to pigments to avoid on certain skin types. How to keep your pigments from turning colors after application.
8. Application of Brows, Lips, and Eyeliner: Roll play application on fake skins. Learn how to make brows look natural.
9. Camouflage, Correction, and Tattoo Removals: Demonstration and explanation of camouflage, correction and tattoo removals. Learning to be safe.
10. Needles and Usage: Learn how to set up your equipment. Different types of needles are used for specific areas of concern….learn what not to use.
11. (3) Pigment Procedures need to be applied on live models. Required for 3 Pigment Procedures.
